Platform For Innovation And Communication Of The International Textile And Man-Made Fibers Industry
The 45th DORNBIRN MAN-MADE FIBERS CONGRESS (DORNBIRN MFC) meets all expectations as the leading European/American event in the field of man-made fibers. Held under the auspices of CIRFS, the European umbrella association of man-made fiber producers, and AFMA, the American Fiber Manufacturers Association, it will host at Dornbirn, from 20 – 22 September 2006, more than 700 participants from more than 30 countries. Located in a European region with traditionally strong links with textiles, Dornbirn will for three days be the textile centre of the world. More than 80 highly qualified speakers from industry and research institutes will make presentations on findings and innovations from the world of man-made fibers and fiber processing in three halls of the modern Congress Centre.
Spectacular opening session with highly interesting plenary lectures
On the opening day plenary lectures by representatives of the EU Commission and EURATEX will deal with the European Technology Platform for Textiles and Clothing. This is to demonstrate the importance of innovative strategies and support for research and development. AFMA will present an overview of the American fiber market, EDANA will discuss the European non-wovens market, a presentation on the topic of electrospinning will be made by Philips University Marburg, and papers on new ways to man-made fibers and their applications will complete the plenary lectures.
Award for outstanding scientific research
In order to encourage innovations in the field of man-made fibers, CIRFS will award the coveted PAUL SCHLACK CHEMIEFASERPREIS to a scientist for his/her research work at a European academic institution.
